The Annual Benefit Auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Many hands go into making this event a success, from the artists who donate their work, to participants that bid on-campus and online, the sponsors who help make it a party to remember. Funds raised at this event goes toward scholarships and the general operations of the school.

2023 Limited Edition

This year's auction cups were created by artist Cat Coulter-Lloyd. Each cup is hand built from clay slabs textured with eyelet lace and stamped with the Pocosin Arts logo. These cups were made specially for the 2023 benefit auction as a limited run of 110 pieces.

About the Artist:

Previously the curator at the Maria V. Howard Arts Center in Rocky Mount, NC and adjunct instructor at Pitt Community College, Catherine (Cat) Coulter Lloyd is currently a studio artist and instructor in Lugoff, SC. She holds a BFA from Western Carolina University, MFA from East Carolina University, and Museum Management Certificate from the Jekyll Island Management Institute through the Southeastern Museums Council. Cat’s ceramic, fiber, and photographic works have been included in juried, invitational, and solo exhibitions from New York to Louisiana.

Featured Artist

Tim Lazure

We are pleased to announce Metalsmith and long time friend of Pocosin Arts, Tim Lazure as this year's featured artist.

Timothy Lazure is a Professor in the Metals Design program at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. He received his BFA at Rochester Institute of Technology and his MFA at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. His body of work is diverse in scope - including jewelry, flatware and hollowware, furniture, and sculptural pieces.

Tim exhibits his jewelry, silversmithing and furniture in national and international exhibitions.  Throughout the years, Tim has taught workshops across the country from Florida to Alaska. He has pieces in the permanent collections of the Mint Museum of Craft and Design in Charlotte, NC, the Gallery of Art and Design in Raleigh, NC, the Enamel Arts Foundation in Los Angeles, CA, and the Racine Art Museum in Racine, WI.
