Women’s Waterfowl Weekend

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the magnificent Atlantic Flyway migration of snow geese, tundra swans, many species of ducks and other wildlife. This fundraiser includes one night’s accommodations in Pocosin’s Riverside Lodge, roundtrip travel to Lake Mattamuskeet, a shrimp and grits feast, breakfast and much more. Georgann Eubanks is board chair for Pocosin Arts and the author of the “Literary Trails” guidebook series from UNC Press. Her latest book is The Month of Their Ripening: North Carolina Heritage Foods through the Year.
Sheryl McNair has a life list of 1,700 birds – sightings gathered across many countries. She lives in Oriental and teaches a class in beginning birding at Pamlico Community College.

Sammy Cox is a board member at Pocosin Arts and a lifetime adventurer. He’s worked professionally in outdoor recreation and written numerous natural history articles.
Bob Glennon has taken many groups to Mattamuskeet since his retirement from the U.S. Forest Service. Bob will share his vast knowledge about the area with participants.
Tuscany Italy Excursion

Come and spend seven days with Pocosin Arts in lovely Tuscany with local resident and metalsmith Jennifer Wells as your guid and host. Upon arrival at the Florence airport, a private shuttle will tak you and your fellow travelers to the beautiful Tuscan town of Certaldo. Form there, the Truffle Festival awaits in San Miniato, where you will enjoy cheese & wine tastings and see Medieval and Contemporary works of arts in San Ginignano. We will finish each day with dinners at intimate local restaurants to private venues. Next, we will head to Florence, the heart of the Renaissance! Where you will enjoy tours of Florentine studios, several Museums, shopping, and a walking city tour. We will enjoy lunch together at various restaurants throughout the city and culminate with a lovely farewell dinner.
This trip includes hotel stays, all transportation, most meals and guided tours. This trip does not include airfare.
