The Basics of Chain Making

This workshop will explore ways to manipulate wire for chain making and how to customize and alter tools to make uniform links. Using several different wires we’ll learn how to utilize hand tools, pliers and mandrels to form different chain links and jump rings. Then we’ll fire up the torch and learn techniques for soldering wire and chain structures.

Emily Rogstad

Emily was born and raised in the village of East Calais, Vermont. She graduated in 2013 with a BFA in Metalsmithing + Jewelry from Maine College of Art.
