Steel Crash Course: Enameling, Fabrication & More

This class is designed for the adventurous metalsmith who wants to dabble into steel but doesn’t know where to start. This class will be fast paced covering demonstrations of the fundamentals of working with mild steel, like silver soldering and welding with an Oxygen/Acetylene Smith Mini Torch. Conversations, tips and instructions of enameling on steel, use of pre-enameled sheet, patinas, and more will also be covered.


All of our online workshops are recorded and, with purchase of the seat in the class, you have access to the recording(s) between workshop sessions as well as for 45 days after the workshop ends.

Sandra Salaices

Sandra Salaices holds a BFA in Jewelry and Ceramics from The University of Texas at El Paso. She was the Artist-in-Residence at Southwest School of Art from 2017-2018 where she taught and kept a full-time studio practice. She founded her own studio in 2018 and now works and lives in México.
