Soap & Candle Casting: Silicone Molds & 3D Printing

All Levels
October 21 & November 4, 2023 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm View in Your Timezone

This workshop will guide participants to design and make unique soap/candle designs using CAD and 3D printing technology.

3D printing is one of the groundbreaking technologies of our time. It has various advantages, such as speedier iteration, single-step manufacturing, affordable production, and customization. However, the biggest downside of the technology is the turnaround time. Depending on the size and intricacies, 3D printing can take from hours to days. Casting is one of the oldest manufacturing methods. Casting has the advantages of low costs, is ideal for small quantity production, and speedier production compared to 3D printing.

This workshop will combine the two practices to give students the skills needed to create and duplicate their own candle/soap designs.

Students will receive several 3D-printed sample designs (at no additional charge*) to follow along with the instructor during the mold-making process. Please use your preferred mailing address at checkout.

Register by October 6 to receive your sample designs before the start of the workshop.**
Registrations after November 4 will not receive a set of sample designs.

*International students must cover the cost of shipping to receive sample designs.
**Shipping delays experienced by the postal service are out of the control of Pocosin Arts and may impact your estimated delivery date. Because of the nature of international shipping, we cannot guarantee that international students will receive their sample designs before the start of the workshop.
