Say It Softly

During this workshop students will speak loudly, but through the softness of textiles. Using language as a starting point, such as phrases, mottoes, slogans, and singular powerful words, you will make your ideas tangible. Participants will explore a range of textile processes including applique, reverse-applique, trapunto, soft sculpture, and embellishment to translate words to physical forms.

Materials Fees for this workshop are estimated to be between $70-100. This does not include materials that may need to be purchased by the student prior to the workshop.

Jeana Eve Klein

Jeana Eve Klein’s work explores the intersection of social media, politics, language, and public vs. private personae through traditional textile processes, installation, and sculpture. Patricia L. Cooke was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. She earned her BFA in 2011 from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.
