Session 8: Creating Dimension with the Hydraulic Press

July 29 - August 2, 2024

Creating Dimension with the Hydraulic Press

Students in this workshop will use the hydraulic press to explore new possibilities for creating dimension in their metalwork. Participants will learn how to: make their own acrylic silhouette dies, utilize die combinations in the press to cut and form metal, use die forming and soldering techniques to create hollow forms, emboss metal, and more! We will focus on ways to create depth, complexity, and repeatable pieces for production work or for one-of-a-kind pieces.

Materials Fees for this workshop are estimated to be between $60-100. This does not include materials that may need to be purchased by the student prior to the workshop.

Sponsored by Potter USA! Potter USA has generously donated a new Rincon Hydraulic Press, silhouette dies, texture plates and forming accessories. These tools will allow our students to truly make the most of their workshop experience. Thank you Potter USA!
