Dulcimer Guitar Making

Whether you are a musician who wants to learn woodworking techniques, or a woodworker who would like to learn the elements necessary to create stringed musical instruments, or just someone looking for a fun week, this is the class for you! A skilled professional woodworker, Peter, will guide you through the safe use of hand tools and machines. Each student will learn the fundamentals of stringed instrument making out of wood and create their own personalized 3~4 string dulcimer guitar.

Materials Fees for this workshop are estimated to be between $90-120. This does not include materials that may need to be purchased by the student prior to the workshop. Additional wood will be available for purchase by the board foot.

Meet the Instructor

Keunho Peter Park

Keunho Peter Park is an international artist, woodworker, and instrument maker who teaches at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He holds a B.F.A in painting from South Korea’s Kookmin University and a 2013 M.F.A. in Woodworking and Furniture Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
