Thread Lab: Exploring Embroidery

Step beyond traditional embroidery and into a space of experimentation! We’ll approach stitching as a creative language through a variety of needlework techniques, discovering all that a needle and thread can do. Starting with embroidery basics, we’ll explore stitching on fabric as well as less conventional materials, finding new ways to create expressive, tactile work.Whether you’re new to embroidery or want to expand an existing practice, this workshop offers an opportunity to build skills, embrace curiosity, and develop a creative approach to stitching. You’ll leave with fresh inspiration, a collection of stitched samples and studies, and plenty of ideas to continue exploring beyond the workshop.

Students can expect to spend $50 – $70 on materials provided by Pocosin or the instructor. This number is an estimate based on projected student usage, the final amount could be outside of this range.
