This workshop will demonstrate brickmaking, clay digging, and surface work. Participants will learn how to make bricks with wooden molds, harvest, and process clay. We will explore various surface techniques, including slip trailing, inlay, resist, and sgraffito to achieve dynamic and unique surfaces. We will ground the demonstrations in conversations about historic and cultural context when utilizing and referencing imagery, objects, and processes.

All of our online workshops are recorded and, with purchase of the seat in the class, you have access to the recording(s) between workshop sessions as well as for 45 days after the workshop ends.
