Discover the versatility of liquid enamels through painting, layering, firing, and surface design. Students will learn to mix and apply liquid enamels, build layered imagery, and understand firing temperatures and schedules for successful results. Explore sgraffito by scratching through wet enamel to reveal underlying colors, then enhance surfaces with enamel overglazes using a traditional quill pen. Demonstrations and hands-on practice emphasize control, color, and expressive mark-making. A basic understanding of metalworking skills such as cutting, drilling, and finishing copper is required, while a basic understanding of enameling—such as a class or workshop in any enamel technique using 80 mesh vitreous enamels or liquid enamels—is helpful.

All of our online workshops are recorded and, with purchase of the seat in the class, students have access to the recording(s) between workshop sessions as well as for 60 days after the workshop ends.
