In this workshop, participants will learn about illustrating on functional pottery using sgraffito and underglaze painting. This method is similar to drawing using pens and watercolors. Celia will talk about ways to create engaging surfaces that are narrative and evoke feeling, and share her tips for being efficient, unafraid, and keeping it fun. Pulling handles off of mugs, applying slip, and other surface techniques will also be demonstrated.
