In this three-part demonstration workshop, you will learn how to inlay copper (or fine silver) tubing into opaque or transparent enamels. As well as the addition of firing glass spheres or glass seed beads into the centers of each piece of tubing to create a beautifully varied surface. Silver or gold foil will add a reflective detail under each clear glass sphere.

We’ll go through specific steps and firings, starting with a slightly domed copper circle.

After cutting the tubing and applying the counter enamel, transparent or opaque enamels will be used to create a base for inlaying the tubing, jump rings, foils, and glass spheres or seed beads. Placement and fire the tubing before inlaying and firing the foils, glass spheres, or seed beads. Familiarity with and experience in basic enameling and metalworking techniques is recommended.

All of our online workshops are recorded and, with purchase of the seat in the class, students have access to the recording(s) between workshop sessions as well as for 60 days after the workshop ends.
