In this class, students will learn how to apply vitreous enamels and cloisonné wire to copper and silver surfaces. We will make enamel pieces that can be incorporated into all forms of jewelry and small objects. The workshop will include the preparation of copper and silver for enamelling, working with cloisonné wire, working with opaque and transparent colors, and polishing cloisonné enamel surfaces. Students will finish with an understanding of the subtle differences of using both substrates.

Basic bench skills, including sawing, filing and forming metal will be helpful for this class.

All of our online workshops are recorded and, with purchase of the seat in the class, students have access to the recording(s) between workshop sessions as well as for 60 days after the workshop ends.
