This online workshop is designed for ceramic artists who want to create their own custom designed clay embossing mats, using analog tools (no computers or cutting machines). Participants will learn how to design a repeating pattern and translate it into an EVA foam embossing mat, then apply it to a soft slab, and learn the nuances and potential pitfalls of building embossed slab pots.

Students would have the best success in this workshop if they already have some familiarity with slab building and confidence using an X-acto knife.
