Anticlastic Forming – Cuff, bangle & twisted forms

Anticlastic forming techniques stretch the edges in one direction while the central area compresses in an opposing direction. We will discuss and see the specialized tools required in action. First, we will use simple patterns to create an anticlastic cuff. Bangles are accomplished by using a metal strip with the ends soldered together. Distinct contours and embellishments can expand your design possibilities. We will also explore elegant twisted forms and more complex patterns.
