Job Description:

Pocosin Arts is seeking a full-time Ceramics Coordinator. The Ceramics Coordinator will live in Columbia, NC, and facilitate engaging online and on-campus workshops in ceramics. The emphasis of this position will shift between the on-campus studio and workshops, and coordinating and hosting online workshops, depending on the needs of Pocosin. This position reports to the Programs Director.



  • Manage Pocosin’s on-campus ceramics studio. The Ceramics Coordinator is responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the studio, maintaining equipment, ordering supplies, record-keeping and inventory, and communicating needs to the Programs Director

  • Help identify qualified instructors in ceramics for online and on-campus workshops.

  • Work with instructors, the Programs Director, and Online Workshop Coordinators to plan, organize and deliver online ceramics workshops.

  • Work with instructors and students to ensure a successful online and on-campus workshop experience.

  • Attend weekly staff and coordinator meetings

  • Create an inclusive and safe space for all program participants

  • Other tasks as assigned


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience attending or working at a craft school

  • BFA or MFA with a concentration in ceramics

  • Experience maintaining tools and equipment

  • A familiarity with the national ceramics community

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with Google Suite or Microsoft Excel

  • Familiarity with Adobe CS software

  • Familiarity with Zoom

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
