Jiro Kamata

Born in 1978, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich under Prof. Otto Kunzli and holds a diploma in 2006. Since 2009, he has been an assistant professor at the Department of Jewelry at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich. Sublimating non-traditional materials into jewelry, he expresses the vivid subversion of values brought about by the transformation of perspectives in an infinitely elegant and minimalist form. The works created from his unique sensibility have a strong presence in Japan and abroad. Based in Munich, he has been actively exhibiting and presenting new works in various countries, especially in the Netherlands and Europe. His works are in the public collections of museums in Germany, the Netherlands, the United States, and Taiwan.
