Pottery & Clay Classes
In our Pottery & Clay classes participants learn hand-building techniques and how to use the pottery wheel. These tools and methods can be used to create cups, bowls, small sculpture and other useful items. Learn to develop exciting forms in combination with texture and color to create unique and beautiful pottery.
Structured for students of all levels, weekly classes and additional practice time give students the opportunity to learn new skills while improving existing skills and techniques. Open to students 18 years and up.
Have fun and learn the basics of making potter in the Pocosin Arts clay studio!
Learn how to use a pottery wheel to make cups, bowls, platters, teapots and much, much more.
Learn coiling, slab-building, and other methods to create sculptures or functional objects.
Glaze & Underglaze
Learn the basics of adding color using dipping, brushing and drawing techniques.
Pick a class that best fits your schedule! We have two times for pottery: on Wednesday evenings from 6:30- 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

All registered participants receive 12lb. of clay and 2 kiln firings of their work included per class session. Basic tool kits, and glazes and underglazes are provided for the class.
