Building Bowls and Community
Pocosin Arts is participating in this fall’s Empty Bowls fundraiser benefiting the Food Bank of the Albemarle.
Participants in our three sold out Build a Bowl workshops used templates to make two bowls: one to keep and one to donate to the Food Bank of the Albemarle’s “Fill the Bowl Dinner”, Thursday October 9 at Montero’s Restaurant in Elizabeth City.
The Food Bank of the Albemarle serves 15 counties in Eastern NC. Thanks to the efforts of our friends and neighbors, we’ll be donating nearly fifty bowls to help support their efforts of fighting hunger in our community.

Short Term Cup Residency
Thinking about applying for our Short-Term Cup Residency? Join us for a free, virtual support session! Pocosin staff will be available to answer any questions you might have about the residency or application process on October 8th from 6 – 7pm ET.
The Short-Term Cup Residency runs February 1- March 14, 2026. We are in search of a ceramic artist to make 100 limited-edition cups for our next Annual Benefit Auction. We request that the cups be tumblers without handles, hold 6 to 8 oz of liquid, and have the Pocosin Arts logo either stamped or as a decal featured prominently on the cup. Other design choices are at the discretion of the artist.
Residents receive free housing and utilities, access to shared kitchen and laundry facilities, and a personal workspace in their primary studio. Pocosin Arts will provide materials and the resident will receive a $750 honorarium.
