Winter Residency Deadline Approaching

Applications for our Winter Residency close August 29th! The Winter Residency offers a 2-week or 4-week session in January of uninterrupted studio time and an opportunity to work with artists across creative disciplines. Enjoy cooler temps, empty beaches and migrating water fowl, when you’re not stretching your creative muscles in the studio.
Session 1: January 4 -17, 2026
Session 2: January 18 – 31, 2026
Primary studios include ceramics, wood, metals and special topics. Artists at any stage in their career are welcome but must be capable of using studio equipment independently. The residency environment is conducive to individual and collaborative work.
Virtual Passport

Pocosin Arts and SNAG present the Virtual Passport Lecture Series with established and emerging international jewelry and metal artists sharing their work, perspectives, and techniques virtually.
Lecture: In the Making: A Journey Through Technique and Discovery
October 10, 11am-12:30pm ET
Craft artists Åsa Lockner and Catarina Hällzon reflect on their evolving relationships with material and technique. Through tradition and deliberate choices in form and medium, they reveal how distinct practices can intersect in the shared experience of making.
Workshop: More From Less, Less is More
October 11, 11am-1:30pm ET
Explore the expressive potential of thin sheet metal. This master class will cover techniques for patterning that directly influence the material’s movement and form. Participants will gain a solid foundation for experimenting with how texture and structure interact in thin metal. As a bonus, Åsa will demonstrate her own stone-setting method, which uses thin sheet to create bold effects.
Watch Party available to university and college classes. Instructor will receive the zoom link and can then distribute to their students.
