Crafting Balance

New! On-Campus May 11-15, 2026 Crafting Balance — A Week of Making and Inspiration
Immerse yourself in a week of hands-on creativity in wood, metal, clay, and printmaking.
Crafting Balance invites you to study with accomplished artists in our studios and along the scenic Scuppernong River, drawing inspiration directly from nature’s textures, rhythms, and forms.
Each morning, you’ll dive into workshops that blend technique, exploration, and personal expression — whether you’re pressing patterns in clay, printing from the landscape, or shaping materials by hand.
Metals: Wearable Shrines of Intention with Nancy Anderson WAIT LIST ONLY!
Cearmics: Into the Woods: Sculpting Black Bears with Christian Kosiba
Wood: Coopered Keepsake Boxes with Kate Davidson
Special Topics: A Week of Hand Broom Weaving with Nam Joti Kaur Khalsa
In the afternoons, choose your own adventure
Continue creating during Open Studio hours, or join one of our planned excursions, including a Pea Island Bird Walk, Alligator Tram Tour, or hiking on the North Pond Levee Trail.
Savor freshly prepared meals, connect with fellow makers, and leave with your own beautifully crafted pieces — and the spark to keep creating long after you return home.

Scholarships

“The ‘work’ aspect of this work-study was very minimal and didn’t interfere with class or studio time. . . and brought me closer to the other work-study recipients. This experience has undoubtedly life life-changing for me, I not only gained new technical skills but made friendships and found a craft community. I felt welcome instantly and had any and all resources I could need made available to me.”
Izzy McRoberts, Session 7, 2025

Summer Fellowship

Pocosin Arts invites applications for our Summer Fellowship Program! This eight-week program offers participants the opportunity to live and work on campus while taking part in four workshops during Pocosin’s eight-week summer session. Fellows alternate weekly between assisting with campus operations and fully immersing themselves in a workshop – with no work responsibilities during their enrolled workshop weeks.
This fellowship offers hands-on studio experience, meaningful connections with professional artists, and the opportunity to join a supportive creative community – building relationships and skills that last well beyond the program.
Fellows receive free workshop tuition, housing (a private room with shared bath), and meals for the duration of the program.
Recipients are required to spend 8 weeks on campus from May 30 to July 25, 2026.
Apply for the Summer Fellowship Here.
