Workshops – All Media

Workshops are 4-day/3-night retreats held in the heart of downtown Columbia in Pocosin Arts’ studios and lodge. We are located on the banks of the Scuppernong River in Columbia, North Carolina, surrounded by water, wildlife, and natural beauty.  Pocosin Arts is the perfect place to learn, relax, get away, get inspired and have some fun!  Click on any of the links below to learn about our 2016 workshops.

NEW!!   5 Week Art Challenge – June 15 — July 13, 2016

In the Clay Studio: Wednesday from 6 pm – 8 pm

Jen Dwyer at Work
This five week ceramic course is designed to be an open studio for adults. Students should come in with ideas of what they want to explore, make and design while in the class using handbuilding and wheel throwing techniques. Resident Artist, Jen Dwyer, will be there to assist students with their project and will provide a variety of demos that cater to these specific projects. Some prior clay experience is preferred but not required.

 

 

 

In the Metals Studio: Wednesday from 6 pm – 8 pm

Laurel Fulton Metalsmith
In this survey class we will experiment with various techniques, tools and metals. You will learn how to add texture, cut, cold connect, solder, and finish metal to create both samples and finished pieces. Beginners welcome.
