Pocosin Arts Facilities

Pocosin Arts is proud to offer the studio space artists need to create their work in a beautiful, serene, and picturesque community nestled right next to the Scuppernong River and the Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.  Pocosin Arts has three main studio areas and lodging available for weekend and weeklong workshop participants.

Pocosin Arts Clay Studio is located in the historic Davis Coffield building.  Capable of accommodating up to 15 students, the clay studio features 13 electric wheels and one kick wheel.  The studio is also equipped with the following:  2 large sinks, 3 medium sized electric kilns, a band-saw, various ware carts and shelving, a North Star extruder, a slab roller, a variety of glazes, and numerous hand tools for texturing and measurement.

Pocosin Arts Jewelry/Metals Studio is also located in the historic Davis Coffield building. Equipped with 9 jewelers benches with individual flex shafts.  The studio is equipped with a soldering area, enameling kilns, a hydraulic press, a shear, a grinding/buffing station and a rolling mill.  Don’t have your own tools?  We have individual tool boxes available for rent.

Pocosin Arts Riverside Studios is located across the street from our main office and studios located at the corner of Main and Water Streets. Downstairs, the spacious two story building houses a large open multipurpose studio with access to sinks, and numerous work tables and chairs. Upstairs lodging is available for workshop participants attending our weekend or weeklong workshops. Each comfortable and cozy room has a private bath, and can accommodate, one, two or four persons. Other facilities available on a limited basis include a kitchen, a laundry room, and a large screen TV for presentations.
