Working with clay provides limitless opportunities for creativity while making your own functional or sculptural work. You will learn from Pocosin’s professional resident potter. The resident potter will take you through the process of hand-building and wheel thrown techniques. Instruction will include surface decoration methods, including glazing and firing. Pocosin’s ceramics studio features a full assortment of tools and equipment to create works in clay, including; 10 electric pottery wheels; one kick wheel; top loading electric kilns; hand tools for carving; trimming; and a large assortment of glazes and underglazes. Pottery classes for Pocosin Arts are organized into 6 week sessions that meet once a week on Thursdays from 6-9pm. Students registered for the class can also take advantage of open studio hours on Tuesday nights from 6pm-9pm. To register for a 6-week session please fill out the form below.
